My Rides: 1979 Can Am MX-5 370, 1979 Can Am MX-5 250 (in need of restoration this summer), and a couple of I Husky CR 250’s (1980 and 1981) on which I plan on racing head to head with my younger son as soon as he can touch the ground on one!!!
My First Bike: 1976 Honda Z50A….Parakeet Yellow, still have it!!!
Motocross items I wish I had kept to use now: 1979 Honda CR 125, 1981 Husqvarna CR 125, my red and blue plastic Scott Moto boots, my blue Scott goggles with face mask.
Favorite foods: Ribs, Steak, Salad and Veggies!!!
Behind the number: 79…..the year of the Can Am’s I plan on competing with and the age I plan on racing my last race.
My Race Story: I grew up in Edmonton, my father bought me my Z50A in 1976 and spent many weekends riding at 1st street riding area till my late teens. Haven’t been on a dirt bike in years, but feel rejuvenated with the idea of getting on a vintage bike and going riding.
Most of my free time during the summer is spent making my son as competitive as possible in kart racing, we have fun at the track and in the garage prepping chassis and building his engines. My son and I are currently restoring a 1981 Yamaha YZ 80 for him to get onto the dirt with. Hope to have fun with this new hobby!!!!
